Commission Terms & Conditions

Thank you so much for considering me to create your commission. My aim is to make the process as relaxed and enjoyable as possible, so I've put together a few terms to explain how everything works.

Booking Your Commission

To secure your commission, I ask for a 50% deposit before I begin any work.

Your booking is confirmed once the deposit has been received.

The remaining balance is due once the artwork has been completed and before your final artwork is sent to you.

Deposits

Your deposit is non-refundable once it has been paid, as it reserves your place in my schedule and covers the time spent planning and creating your artwork.

Reference Photos

The better the reference photos, the better your finished artwork will be.

Please send as many photos as you like, I often use details from several images to create one final composition. If I need any extra references, I'll let you know before I get too far into the piece.

My Style

Every commission is painted or illustrated in my own expressive style.

Rather than creating an exact copy of a photograph, I focus on capturing personality, character and all of those little details that make the subject feel familiar.

By booking a commission, you're commissioning my interpretation of your photographs rather than a photorealistic reproduction.

Changes

I'll send you a preview before I finish everything off, so you have a chance to check that you're happy.

One round of small changes is included if there's anything you'd like adjusted.

If you'd like to make major changes after I've started (such as changing the pose, replacing reference photos or redesigning the composition), there may be an additional charge depending on the amount of work involved.

Once you've approved the final artwork, I won't be able to make any further changes.

Timescales

I'll always give you an estimated completion date before I begin.

As every commission is created by hand, occasionally things can take a little longer than expected. If that happens, I'll always keep you updated.

Printing & Delivery

Your commission will include everything we've agreed before work begins, whether that's a digital file, a fine art print, an original artwork, or a combination of these.

All artwork is packaged carefully before it's posted.

If your artwork arrives damaged, please let me know within 7 days of delivery and send over a few photographs of the packaging and artwork so I can help put things right.

Copyright

The copyright of every artwork remains with me.

You're very welcome to display and enjoy your commission in your home or give it as a gift, but the artwork can't be copied, reproduced or used commercially without my permission.

I also love sharing finished commissions on my website and social media to show future clients my work. If you'd rather keep your commission private, just let me know before I start and I'll happily respect that.

Paying your deposit confirms that you've read and accepted these terms.
